Year R Admissions
If you are considering choosing Green Park Community Primary School for your children, please feel free to visit us - we would be delighted to show you around the school, let you meet our staff and pupils and answer any questions you may have.
All applicants must provide details of the child's date of Birth (Birth Certificate) and proof of
current address (utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, etc).
Foundation Stage (Year R)
If you are applying for your child's first year of school, there are 60 places available for entry in September 2025.
Applications can be made via the Common Application Form from Tuesday 5th November 2024, with the decision being made on Wednesday 16th April 2025 on National Offer Day. Information on how to appeal or accept this place will be enclosed.
Admissions for Year R are administered by the Local Authority (LA) by completing the Reception Common Application Form, which must be submitted by parents by Wednesday 15th January 2025. Further information on applying for a place in Reception can be found on the Kent County Council website, here: Primary School Places.
Parents may express an interest in future admissions by contacting the school office to register their child's details. This will ensure that you will receive a Common Application Form when applications commence.
** Please note: this does not give a child priority when places are allocated by the LA. **
In-Year Admissions
If your child has already started school, you will need to apply for an in-year admission.
If you are planning to move, or have recently moved, to the area and are considering transferring your child to our school please contact the school office to discuss the availability of places in the desired year group.
For further information regarding In-Year admissions, see the Kent County Council website, here: Move to a different school.
In the event of over-subscription for places for pupils applying to start school at the age of 4 or join the school in another year group, the school uses the following criteria to decide on the awarding of a place:
- Siblings- children with a sibling at the school at the time of admission.
- Distance- The distance from the child’s home to the school, using footpaths.
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2025 you can appeal before Tuesday 20th May 2025 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by Tuesday 22nd July 2025.
For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.
