Leeds castle trip
EYFS trip to Leeds Castle - Friday 19th May 2018
Leeds Castle Trip
We ended our term with a fantastic trip to Leeds Castle. It was a great way for the children to see what they had learned about castles in real life and a castle that is very different from Dover Castle.
The children thought of excellent questions that they wanted to find out about the castle and the grounds such as “which flag does the castle fly?” and “does the castle have any secret passages?” While we may not have discovered a secret passage, entering the castle through the cellar by the moat did feel a bit secret!
The children loved seeing all the different rooms inside the castle and making comparisons with their own lives. They were surprised how small the Queen’s bath tub was and amazed at how many books they could see, one of the staff told them that if they read every book in the room, all day and night without stopping, they would be at least 10 years older than they are now by the time they had finished!
Leeds Castle was a fascinating place to be, the children loved seeing the castle and all the animals living there as well as enjoying some time in the play area. They were beautifully behaved, listened well and loved exploring a new place.
Well done Palace, an excellent day out!
