Year 5 have had a fantastic and productive Term 5, filled with exciting learning across the curriculum.

This term, our topic has had a strong Science focus as the children explored Properties and Changes of Materials. They investigated the properties of different materials and learnt how materials can change through a variety of processes. The children particularly enjoyed carrying out experiments and discussing which materials would be most suitable for different purposes.

In English, the children have been developing their persuasive writing skills by writing persuasive letters. They have been passionately campaigning for funding for new playground equipment and came up with some excellent reasons explaining why this would benefit the children in our school. We were extremely impressed with their thoughtful arguments, persuasive language and enthusiasm for making a positive difference.

The term ended with a fantastic Sports Day, where the children demonstrated wonderful teamwork, determination and encouragement towards one another. It was lovely to see everyone participating with such enthusiasm and school spirit.
